Global Remit Karja is a digital, collateral-free loan product designed for Nepali migrant workers currently employed overseas. We understand that unexpected expenses and urgent financial needs can arise anytime. This loan offers a secure and affordable solution to support your family, seize investment opportunities at home, and avoid high-interest borrowing from informal sources.  
By providing collateral free loan, the bank aims to encourage the use formal remittance channels, enhance financial inclusion and offer affordable access to credit.

You can apply directly through the Global Smart Plus app. Since, the loan is fully digital, no security or guarantor is required. You may also repay early without any additional charges.

Eligibility

Applicants must

  • Be a Nepali citizen, aged between 18 and 55 years.
  • Be currently employed in one of the approved foreign employment corridors (All Remitting Countries)
  • Maintain Global IME Bank account (either a Global Janmabhumi Bachat Khata or Global Remit Saving Account) and have access to the Global Smart Plus mobile banking facility.
  • Hold a valid Labor/Work Permit and VISA with a minimum of 9 months' remaining validity.
  • Possess a residence or local ID issued by the country of employment.
  • Earn a minimum gross salary equivalent to NPR 40,000 per month (verified through payslip, employment contract or bank statement).
  • Have remitted at least three remittance transactions via Global Remit Platform amounting the total remittance volume of NPR 60,000 or above to their bank account maintained with Global IME Bank Limited within the last six months.

Required Documents

To process your application, please have the following documents ready:

  • Your Identification Document (Citizenship, Passport, etc.).
  • Valid VISA with at least 9 months of validity.
  • Valid Work Permit with at least 9 months of validity.
  • Employment Document with Salary Slip.
  • Nominee Details (Name, Contact Details, and GIBL Account Number if available). The nominee must be a close family member residing in Nepal.
  • Other documents or information as stipulated by the Bank from time to time.
